Carrie Underwood’s Note to Self

She Shares an Inspiring "Someday" Pep Talk

At some point in 1998, Carrie Underwood was just like any other teenager singing country songs at the top of her lungs. Especially the ones from artists like Mindy McCready.

And when a CBS radio station posted a vintage video from 1998 of Underwood singing McCready’s “Maybe He’ll Notice Her Now” — the late singer’s 1997 Top 20 hit featuring vocals from Lonestar’s Richie McDonald — she was a very good sport about it.

Instead of demanding it be taken off the Internet, or dying from embarrassment, she actually retweeted it to her own 6 million followers on Tuesday night (Feb. 21).

She added her own little “Letter to Me” pep talk, which probably gave hope to every one of her young fans who might have thought they’d never end up where Underwood ended up.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
