Little Big Town Calls Song Hope for Happiness

Here's to Whatever Puts a Smile on Your Face

While Little Big Town is still touring Down Under, over here on this side of the world, their fans are celebrating the release of their latest single, “Happy People.”

The song was written by Lori McKenna (“Humble and Kind,” “Girl Crush,” and “I Want Crazy,” just to name a few) and Hailey Whitters, and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild thinks that the upbeat tune is just right for right now.

“‘Happy People’ is the perfect sentiment for what’s going on in the world right now,” she said, “and the things that are important, to us anyway.”

And she and her bandmates have high hopes for the song of their latest album The Breaker.

“I hope it brings happiness to people right now in what feels like a very chaotic time,” Fairchild said.

It definitely sounds like it’s working its happiness magic in Australia. Right before a recent show in Melbourne, the city tweeted, “@littlebigtown big autumn welcome! A little secret, we’ve got a bit of a girl crush on y’all Enjoy your gig tonight with @KipMooreMusic.”

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
