Chris Stapleton: A Hometown Hero for Kentucky

Goes Homes and Gives Back to Paintsville

On Friday night (March 31), you can go home with Chris Stapleton, and be part of his plan to surprise his high school in Paintsville, Kentucky.

During the CMT Hometown Heroes special, Stapleton went back to his alma mater ready to give the school some much-needed improvements for the music program at Johnson Central High School. He even brought $57,000 in brand new band instruments to donate, and helped build an outdoor stage so the students could have a dedicated place to perform.

"It really makes you feel good about what you're doing," Stapleton said about getting back to his roots for such a good cause.

After the work was done, Stapleton performed two intimate shows for family, friends and fans in Paintsville.

The special will feature the exclusive performance, an in-depth interview and an intimate look into the people and places that shaped Stapleton -- and the other two heroes Brett Eldredge and Darius Rucker -- from a young age. CMT Hometown Heroes premieres on Friday at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
