After singing “Yeah Boy,” Kelsea Ballerini was putting her guitar down at Tuesday’s (April 18) 2017 Nashville Symphony Fashion Show when she took a moment to point out her own fashion crime live onstage.
Wearing a stunning periwinkle Zac Posen gown, Ballerini joked, “Y’all, I feel like it’s a sin playing my guitar for that song and covering up this dress that’s worth more than my car.”
The night was a celebration of music and fashion that featured a runway show of Posen’s spring collection, a special performance by flute students from the Symphony’s Accelerando program and a closing three-song set by Ballerini that included “Peter Pan” and a stirring cover of Hank Cochran’s “Make the World Go Away.”
CMT’s Allison DeMarcus emceed the event which hosted invited guests Thomas Rhett, rising artist Hayley Orrantia, singer-songwriter Karen Elson and Savannah Chrisley, from Chrisley Knows Best.
Proceeds from the fashion show help support the Nashville Symphony’s artistic, education and community engagement programs. Past designers for the Symphony Fashion Show have included Carolina Herrera, Brunello Cucinelli, Christian Siriano, Oscar de la Renta, MARCHESA, Monique Lhuillier, Isaac Mizrahi and Pamella Roland.
An all-new CMT Hot 20 Countdown will recap all the action from Tuesday’s catwalk on Saturday (April 22) and Sunday (April 23) at 9 a.m. ET.
