Matthew McConaughey won the unofficial award for best Friday night (April 21) in Austin when he sang with Jack Ingram, Kris Kristofferson, Little Big Town and hit-maker Jon Randall.
The concert moment happened live at the ACL Moody Theatre during the Jack & Friends guitar pull, closing the fifth annual Mack, Jack & McConaughey benefit. The concert featured the acoustic performances by Little Big Town, Ingram, Randall, Keith Gattis, Jessi Alexander, Waylon Payne and the Love Junkies songwriting, team Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey and Liz Rose.
Ingram and Miranda Lambert kicked off the two-day fundraiser with full sets at the ACL Moody Theatre on Thursday’s (April 20) gala night.
Friday’s events included a charity golf tournament at Spanish Oaks Golf Club and a Jason Wu fashion show hosted by Camila Alves McConaughey.
McConaughey, Ingram and former University of Texas football coach Mack Brown host the annual benefit to raise money for charities that empower children. Since its launch in 2013, the non-profit has raised more than $5 million toward its mission. The MJ&M 2017 beneficiaries are CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation and the Rise School of Austin.
