You’d think Maren Morris would be used to all the accolades and attention by now.
Then again, her break out hit “My Church” was only released about a year and a half ago, so maybe she still needs time to let it all sink in.
“You build up so many thoughts and emotions in to doing your first tour, but you don’t know until you step on that stage what it’s really going to be like,” Morris said in a recent radio interview.
“It’s always a slap in the face, in a good way, a healthy way,” she added.
She felt the same kind of shock and awe when she won the new female vocalist honor at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“I don’t care if you do see it coming, it was so emotional because even though they had announced that I had won a couple of weeks before, it’s still me holding an ACM in my hands,” she said. “There’s just nothing that emotionally prepares you for that until it happens.”
Morris announced Monday (May 1) that she is adding 10 more stops to her tour:
Oct. 5: Kalamazoo, Michigan (State Theatre)
Oct. 6: Milwaukee (The Rave)
Oct. 7: Clive, Iowa (7 Flags Event Center)
Oct. 12: Huntington, West Virginia (Keith-Albee Theatre)
Oct. 13: Memphis, Tennessee (Minglewood Hall)
Oct. 19: Brandon, Mississippi (City Hall Live)
Oct. 21: Mobile, Alabama (Soul Kitchen)
Oct. 26: Kansas City, Missouri (Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland)
Oct. 27: Tulsa, Oklahoma (Brady Theater)
Oct. 28: Wichita, Kansas (The Cotillion)
