"Boy" Is Lee Brice's Tribute to Takoda and Ryker

He Is Proud to Be His Sons' Dad

Lee Brice didn't write his new song, "Boy." But with two boys at home, it sounds like he's made the tune his own.

"We wanted to make 'Boy' our first single for a couple of reasons. First, Sara and I have two sons, Takoda (9) and Ryker (3). This song is a tribute to them," Brice said in a press release about the single. "It's my way of saying how proud I am to be their dad."

But the timing of the song is important to Brice, too. Because very soon, it won't be just him and his boys.

"We have a daughter on the way in a couple of weeks," he added, "and we wanted to share this song for our boys before she arrived."

"Boy" was written by Nicolle Galyon and Jon Nite, and will be on Brice's fourth studio album, due out November 3.

"Writing this record was a personal and vulnerable experience. Every song is a snapshot of who I am right now. I've labored over every word and every note," he said, "and I can't wait to share it."
