Alison Krauss to Ride Appalachia's Santa Train

Alison Krauss will ride the Santa Train through Appalachia on Nov. 18 to help distribute 15 tons of toys and gifts to thousands of people in the region for the Christmas season. Beginning in Kingsport, Tenn., the 110-mile route travels through 14 towns in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky before ending in Pikeville, Ky. Adrianna Sgarlata, Miss Virginia 2006, will serve as a member of the crew handing out gifts to children who live along the route. Now in its 64th year, the Santa Train has carried guests such as Naomi Judd, Patty Loveless, Travis Tritt and Rebecca Lynn Howard.
