At the Country Strong film premiere last night (Nov. 8) in Nashville, Tim McGraw told me, "There will be blood." He wasn't saying it like a threat to me personally. That was just his answer when I asked what his favorite movie of all time was. And it was There Will Be Blood. But he also threw The Godfather and Braveheart in the mix. Faith Hill told me hers was Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn. She also said Country Strong, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow and McGraw, might not be a good choice for really little kids. When I asked why, all she said was, "It's just a mature story."
Later, Martina McBride said her two faves were The Rose and The Wizard of Oz. Dierks Bentley told me he liked the more serious ones, like Blades of Glory and Old School. Luke Bryan's was Rudy. Sara Evans said the last good movie she saw with her kids was Toy Story 3. Then we commiserated over all the inappropriate language in so-called kid movies. "Avatar? C'mon? Why does there even need to be one cuss word in that?" she asked. Jaron Lowenstein's all-time favorite was Cinema Paradiso, which a friend had to drag him to but now he's seen at least 20 times.
