I'm well aware Keith Urban was up for both the entertainer of the year and male vocalist awards at Wednesday's (Nov. 10) CMA Awards. And even though he didn't win, here's a thought: How about we vote him husband of the year? You will see what I mean when you get your copy of his new Get Closer album when it's released Tuesday (Nov. 16). If there were liner notes for real life, I would hope my husband could write something just half as moving as this. Instead of the litany of shallow thank yous to every single person who so much as breathed on the album, Urban devotes his one and only paragraph of gratitude to his wife Nicole Kidman. Saying things like, "I continue to be brought to my knees by this love of ours" and that he is "in awe of how this blessed family ... stretches and fearlessly opens my vulnerable heart." He closes the back page by saying he wants Kidman to go to sleep every night knowing that no one has ever, or will ever, love her as much as he does. The guy's a damn poet. And the music's not bad either. Check out my top three tracks: "Long Hot Summer," "Without You" and "Georgia Woods."
