I guess when you're Kid Rock, the self-proclaimed king of awesome, you would definitely have to give your house a name. And he has. "I call my farmhouse I live in the Still-Rockin' Ranch," he tells USA Today. It's tough to imagine a grown-up Kid Rock, let alone a Kid Rock with grandchildren, but he admits he has this fantasy about being an eternal rock 'n' roller. He explained, "I hope this journey that life takes me on, at the end, I'll be sitting on my front porch one day with a Jim Beam and Coke, smoking a cigar in rocking chair and my grandkids will come up to me and say, 'What are you up to, Grandpa?' And I'll say, 'Still rockin'.'" That's definitely how I imagine his retirement, too. He's hardly the kind of guy you'd picture playing bridge in the senior center. Then, again, he seems like a man who is full of surprises. Like, he told the newspaper he loves antiquing. Kid Rock? Antiquing? "It's about the hunt in an instant-gratification, one-click world," Rock said. All these admissions and reflections must be part of making it to the big 4-0. Rock is hoping to have a big bash in Detroit for his upcoming 40th birthday and hopes his buddies like Sheryl Crow, Hank Williams Jr. and Zac Brown will join him.
