OFFSTAGE: Alan Jackson Dishes on His Favorite Thanksgiving Sides
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Everyone has a favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner. The bird, the potatoes, the green bean casserole with those little French-fried onions all around the edges. But for Alan Jackson, it's all about the stuffing.

"My favorite Thanksgiving dish would be the homemade dressing -- the cornbread based -- that we always have with turkey. That recipe is kind of a combination of my mama's, and [wife] Denise has taken it and perfected it over the years so that me and my children really enjoy it," he said recently. I should've know that would be his favorite because he sings fondly about cornbread in his "Where I Come From" song.

And as for Lee Ann Womack, her favorite part of the meal seems to be the guy making it.

"I wouldn't have anyone prepare my Thanksgiving meal other than my husband Frank because he's such an amazing cook," she said. "He just has a knack for it, and it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without Frank's cooking."

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles is thankful for a lot more than just food this year.

"I'm thankful for the safety of my brother, who came back from Afghanistan," she said. "I'm thankful for music and to have a wonderful partner and manager and group of people to go on the road with and do what I love. I'm thankful for the fans that buy the records to allow us to do what we love."
