Maybe Shania Twain and fiancé Frederic Thiebaud tossed around all kinds of potential wedding dates but ultimately just decided to hop on a plane and head down to Puerto Rico to get hitched. Maybe they just couldn't wait. But I don't think that's the case at all. I am just romantic enough to believe that the date they chose to tie their knot, Jan. 1, 2011, has all kinds of significance. This is the second marriage for both of them (their exes Robert "Mutt" Lange and Marie-Anne Thiebaud allegedly started this whole ball rolling by becoming romantically involved). And yet for Twain and Thiebaud's new beginning, they chose a date of firsts -- 1/1/11. I hope someone cross-stitched that date on a throw pillow or engraved it into a sterling silver frame for them. I wish the newlyweds a lifetime of even more firsts and a love that lasts.
