Can they duet? You bet. But they're also pretty good on their own. Chelsee Oaks and Rob Bolin were Chelsee & Rob when they were contestants during the second season of CMT's Can You Duet. But on the American Idol episode that aired Thursday night (Jan. 27), they both sang their way into the judges' hearts to win a trip to Hollywood. Their audition had them singing together on the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" and then a little bit on their own. The romantic part of their back story really got to the judges. Jennifer Lopez called herself a hopeless romantic, and then Steven Tyler told them, "Get outta here and fall in love with each other all over again." Back when they were on Can You Duet, Bolin was a hot dog guy at Zackie's, and Oaks was a nanny. And I remember vividly when they sang Little Big Town's "Boondocks." They didn't win that time. (Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones claimed top honors during the second season.) But maybe this is their second big chance -- although Oaks apparently has a new boyfriend. Even if they are no longer in love with each other, America may still fall in love with them.
