(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and
out of the spotlight.)
All I ever wanted Adrian Grenier to be
was Vincent Chase. He is the reason I watch Entourage, and frankly,
the reason I even pay extra for HBO each month. So hearing him sing a country song, in a country video, is just icing on the
sexy cake. Watch him as he looks at the camera with those Keith Urbanesque bedroom eyes,
and tips his cowboy hat like he's Garth Brooks, and strikes a pose that's all Dwight
Yoakam. And before they cut away to the punk-rock drum solo scene, the song even has some nice steel guitar and lyrics
about doublewides and the Tastee Freez. (And what I love even more is that this side of Grenier is no joke. He actually has
an alter-ego, Honey DuContra, who plays the drums in the real-life indie-rock band the
Honey Brothers.) Coinciding with the DVD release of Adventures of Power,
the air-drum comedy film starring Grenier and Glee's Jane Lynch, this video, for "A
Little Like You," is part of the VH1 Save the Music Foundation
auction project where you can bid on all kinds of instruments signed by Ringo Starr, Metallica's Lars Ulrich, the Ramones,
Ween, Weezer, Judas Priest and Grenier, plus tickets, backstage passes, lunch dates and music lessons from the stars. The
proceeds from the auction will go to the foundation, which is dedicated to restoring music education in America's public schools.
