Who else thought this new show called The Voice was going to be about the late Vern Gosdin? Well, unfortunately, it's not. What it is, though, is kind of an American Idol show if you closed your eyes. When contestants audition, they are "blind auditions," so they're judged strictly on their voice. Looks literally don't matter. And it was just announced that Blake Shelton is going to be a coach along with Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine. A very cool idea for a show, I think, and it's wildly popular in Holland. And now with Shelton on board, it all just got a lot more interesting. Once the singers are chosen and made into teams, then coaches will bring in songwriters, producers and movers and shakers to make things happen. The winner gets $100,000 and a record deal. The show premieres on April 26 on NBC.
