(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Country newcomer Jennette McCurdy was on the radio last week, talking about her path from her role as Sam Puckett on iCarly, Nickelodeon's hit show for kids, tweens and the occasional teen. And she talked about how Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus is busy producing some of the tracks on her upcoming country album. And that she's written some songs for the album with Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. But if you love her on the show, it's not like she's going to throw away that iCarly fame just yet. When the station asked McCurdy which one she would choose -- acting or singing -- if she was forced to choose, she said, "I really don't think push is gonna come to shove in that way. You know that saying, 'Where there's a will, there's a way'? I totally believe that and think that definitely applies here. I love both of them."
