Last year was The Band Perry's first time at the ACM Awards show. And before that? Before that, they just watched the show just like the rest of us -- as major country fans. So Sunday night (April 3) will be their first time to perform on the show -- and possibly bring home an award. At Saturday's party to celebrate their debut album being certified gold by the RIAA, Kimberly Perry told me, "We don't take this moment for granted. We're still not totally aware of the impact that song 'If I Die Young' had for us. When people come see us play ... we're still not used to that." Her bandmate brother Reid Perry talked, too, about the road leading up to all this. "We'd been working for 12 years. ... It was just like 'wait, wait, wait" and then 'hurry up' in 2010. It was definitely one of those pinnacle years," he told me. But Kimberly does not mind the waiting part. "I'm so grateful. We appreciate that people lend us their ears and their hard earned dollars."
