OFFSTAGE: Miranda Lambert Gives Health Tips

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

The cover story on Miranda Lambert in this month's issue of Health magazine uncovers some tidbits about her lifestyle that you may not have known. I highly recommend reading it. She opens up about how she strives to stay healthy on the road: grilled chicken salad after shows, no junk food, plus lunges, crunches and walks. She also says she eats a lot of catfish, but only if it's fried. "I tried to be healthy and bake it once, which was horrible. We ordered a pizza!" she said. And she rationalizes the hog-slaughtering days of her youth: "It sounds weird to other people, but I look at it like, there are some animals you feed and some animals that feed you," she admitted. But it's the animals that Lambert feeds -- namely the seven rescue dogs in her life -- that keep her busy. Asked if she will have kids with soon-to-be husband Blake Shelton, she replied, "The dogs are really good birth control."
