Dear Taylor Swift,
I'm leaving for Nashville this morning (June 7), so can you please come help me pack?
Swift is such a natural at flying all over the world, which is the polar opposite of me, so I wish she could help me get ready for my Chicago-to-Music-City journey. In lieu of that, I have in my head her travel musts that she recently gave to InStyle. Her first tip is to roll your T-shirts and jeans so you can fit more clothes into your bag. Great advice, even if you are packing red carpet dresses. She also suggests working before relaxing. "Working gives me a sense of accomplishment, then you can reward yourself with fun," she says. Other suggestions are to keep beauty essentials close by, like eyeliner, lip pencil and night cream, and to give yourself the little things that bring you comfort. For Swift, that's a skinny caramel latte. For me, it's an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half iced tea). Lastly, she recommends buying souvenirs that are unique to the area. In Japan, she bought kimonos. So I guess in Nashville I should stock up on Goo Goo Clusters? This is going to be a great trip, I can already tell.
