(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
It's probably not firstname.lastname@example.org. Or taylorswift at any other e-mail address we might think of. I'm guessing the real Taylor Swift would not choose addresses that were that obvious. But what if your name really was something like "Taylor Swift" and you had an e-mail address similar to the country superstar's? Here's what would happen: You'd get e-mails from fans hoping they were going to make it to the real Swift's inbox. And then because we're a society that shares everything with everyone, you'd post those e-mails on the Internet. The messages on this tumblr site are pretty typical fan mail, albeit a little more nervy in terms of the requests these fans make. Fan mail used to consist of pretty straightforward "I-love-your-songs" messages. Now, as you can see from these photos, it's more of the request variety. As in, can you listen to my demo? Can we get free tickets? Can my daughter take your picture? It's probably all because Swift has built up a fan base of people who feel like she's their friend, as opposed to some untouchable goddess on a pedestal.
