(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
In a rural part of Michigan, north of Detroit and its suburbs, Kid Rock has 30 acres. And apparently, a decorator with the same lavish and eclectic tastes as he does. Maybe he's even his own decorator. But the picture Men's Journal paints is one of an absolute rock star Mecca. There are portraits of his musical heroes on the walls, a round bed with black sheets, a basement with a stripper pole and arcade, black and chrome wallpaper, a bronze statue of Jesus, a Civil War cannon, busts of bison and elk, prints of Winchesters, original Alberto Vargas pin-up paintings in the bathroom, a naked bronze statue overlooking the pool and an Airstream trailer that doubles as a pool house. It is a style the magazine calls "turn-of-the-century Jim Beam." Not sure if that's a criticism or a compliment, but either way, I want in.
