(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Sure, Luke Bryan sings about asking country girls to shake it for him. But deep down, he knows the value of good manners. So Bryan and his wife Caroline are starting to raise their little boys Bo, 3, and Tate, 11 months, to be perfect Southern gentlemen. "Right now, we're really big on 'yes, sir,' 'no sir,' 'yes ma'am' and 'no ma'am.' We will hound them on that. Especially Bo. That's just a way to open doors faster than anything else in the world, and the cool thing about it is it's an endearing thing right off the bat," Bryan told me before he took the stage on Saturday night (July 16) in Chicago. "It's that type of politeness and manners we love. And, you know, not saying what daddy says sometimes." But a 3-year-old is still a 3-year-old, and can't always be on his very best behavior. Bryan told me about taking Bo to see Cars 2 recently. "He sits on the edge of the seat, just completely dialed in. You just can't believe you're in a movie with your young'un," he said. "But that didn't last. He was only good for about 45 minutes, then we had to get him out of there."
