Dolly Parton invited a few hip fashion bloggers into her dressing room recently and gave them all kinds of insight into her ideas on how to look her best. And while she maintains that "a good smile" is the most important part of looking good, Parton recalls where she got her inspiration for her current look. "I actually got my look from what they called the Town Tramp in my hometown," she said. "Seriously, there was this woman, and she had this beautiful yellow hair, bright red lipstick, long nails, tight skirts. And I was just a country little girl, and I thought she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen." As for her makeup routine, that came from the drag queens in her life. "I have a huge gay following, and I have a lot of friends who are drag queens. They know how to do their makeup, they know how to do their hair," Parton said. Parton has admitted before she always wears wigs, and every time she jokes about it, it makes me think of the line from the old Confederate Railroad song, "Trashy Women," when the singer talks about bringing his senior prom date home and his parents say, "Well, pardon us, son, she ain't no kid/That's a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig/I said, 'I know it, dad. Ain't she cool? That's the kind I dig.'"
