This is for that gutsy Eric Church fan with the nerve to ask him to do a shot with you: Thank you. Thank you for making a totally realistic request that proves what an easygoing guy Church really is. You weren't proposing marriage. You didn't ask him to autograph one of your body parts. You weren't asking for a songwriting deal. Your sign just said, "My bucket list: to have a shot with Eric Church." It worked. And in a People Country video, Church talks about that night. "We brought him up onstage and had a shot with him. I remember that one," he laughs. Church also talks about how he and his band kind of kept the songs on his new album, Chief, on the down low until the release. "I'm a little old school, so I try not to give too much of a hint as to what's gonna on the next record, because a lot of it ends up online," he says. "So we've kept it very close to the vest. So to finally get that out there -- and share that with the fans, then have them respond to the level that they have -- is overwhelming."
