Must be dependable, punctual, drug-free and close with family. Good attitude and no hidden agendas a plus. That's how you get a job with Kenny Chesney. In a recent, lengthy interview with The New York Times, Chesney talks about the business of being Kenny Chesney. Because as much as you buy into the good ol' singer-songwriter side of Chesney, he really is in charge of a big brand. So the NYT asked him what kinds of things he'd ask someone during a job interview. "I want to know about their family," he said. "I want to know what they do in their down time. I want to know what their dreams are. I want to know what they watch on TV. I don't care about their religion or their political views. I don't care about any of that. But I do have to know if, deep down, they're a solid person."
As for the dependability quality, Chesney says, "I don't want to have to worry that something might not get done when I ask them to do it." Applicants also need to be able to roll with the flow. "No two days are ever the same on the road," he added. "And it's really important to have people out there who can roll with the flow -- who don't look at every situation as a life-or-death thing -- and take each day as it comes." I don't think Chesney is hiring at the moment, but it sounds like he'll keep your resume on file.
