I think the idea of using Taylor Swift's very grand, very orchestral ballad "Haunted" for this Sunday (Aug. 21) night's episode of HBO's True Blood makes all kinds of sense. If vampires and humans can co-exist, so can country stars and orchestras. Right?
The show's music boss, Gary Calamar, told Rolling Stone the song will be one during "a racy, sexy scene." I think the whole show is pretty racy and sexy, so I'm not sure that really narrows it down.
Reportedly, whoever wrote this episode recommended the Swift song, then her people said no, but then she said yes. I have to think she did so because the song has always been one of the mysteries of her Speak Now album. One of the ones you can't quite figure out.
The hidden message in the liner notes for this track is "still to this day." Could that mean she's haunted by a man she loved and maybe still loves? One who's making her hold her breath until she sees him again? And is that they kind of scene they will use it for on True Blood? Come on, come on, don't leave us like this.
