Get in line, B.o.B. Almost everyone wants to have a little piece of this country music pie. In an interview with Today (not our NBC morning news show but a newspaper in Singapore), the rapper, singer, songwriter and producer said, "I want to produce a country album for a country singer. I feel like country music has a certain kind of pocket. It all sonically [comes together]. Are you ready to get satisfied sonically?" I'm assuming nearly all the country fans out there are already satisfied sonically. Otherwise, how would you explain how many of us exist? B.o.B. added that when he puts new music out, he wants people to embrace it. "I want them to really get inside and to really understand what type lifestyle I live. And understand that my music really is a lifestyle," he said. That I get. I just don't know how his lifestyle would translate into country songs. Plus, he also said he'd like to make an album of meditation music that people think is "dope." ("Dope" as in cool. Not a drug reference.) If you ask me, he should apply that approach to the country project if he does one. Make it dope, and maybe we'll listen.
