"I don't have an overcoming-addiction story, other than the guitar itself. And I haven't overcome that." That's what Brad Paisley had to say about one of his only vices when he was on ABC's Nightline earlier this week in a segment calling attention to his new book, Diary of a Player, and hosting this year's CMA Awards show with Carrie Underwood. In discussing his guitar addiction, he was explaining he doesn't drink but had recently been pulled over for a suspected DUI. "It was so funny because I'm never drunk. I hadn't had a drink at all. I had two kids in the back seat. We had been to get ice cream. To my kids, it was the greatest thing that ever happened," he said. "[They] ran through the house when we got home telling everybody that Daddy got arrested." The whole interview is so Paisley. He says things like, "The fame part of things is only really useful when it comes to restaurant reservations" and "Casting calls are the new Bachelorette." So while he may lack a tragic overcoming-addiction story, Paisley will always have that charming dry wit.
