This is why I love the BMI Country Awards. There's just something in the air at the big Nashville songwriter celebration that brings out the candid side of everyone. So you can get a man like Kristian Bush to admit things such as the fact he has written some really crappy songs in his lifetime. "Oh, I've written plenty of terrible songs. And, you know, thankfully, I don't have too many bad drunk songs like, 'I Kissed a Toilet Goodnight,'" he told me at Tuesday night's (Nov. 8) ceremony. "What you want to do, is when you have a song that's really, really bad, you try to forget it and then never let anybody hear it." The only thing I could not get out of Bush is whether or not the rumors were true about Sugarland and Lady Gaga. I'd heard they will be singing together at the Grammy nominations concert on Nov. 30 in Los Angeles. If it is true -- and I'm just speculating about this -- I'd love to hear Gaga do Sugarland's "Stay." Or maybe they'll mash something up, like her "Bad Romance" and their "All I Want to Do." They could call it "All I Want to Do Is Have a Bad Romance." But that's just me.
