The All-American Rejects? Never heard of them. Until this morning, when I heard they'd done a song for Taylor Swift at the CMT Artists of the Year taping. At the Nashville event last night (Nov. 29), the band blended her song, "Mean," and their own hit, "Gives You Hell." I'll have to wait until the show airs on Dec. 13 to actually see and hear it, but for now, I am loving that Swift has introduced me to a song, band and sound I might not have discovered otherwise. And mash-up-wise, this song makes a pretty perfect partner for the message in "Mean." Like that song, "Gives You Hell" is all about not always seeing eye-to-eye with someone. To put it mildly. Now if you'll excuse me, I have almost nine years of this Oklahoma-born band's songs to download.
