It hasn't been a totally charmed life. Brad Paisley struggled plenty before he made it to the top of the top of the country music world where he lives now. So he hates it when people make it seem like it all came so easy. "I cringe every time I read 'The Charmed Life of Brad Paisley' in Country Weekly or People or something, you know, because I do look like I've got it made -- and I do have it made," he admitted in a recent radio interview. "But I always a cringe because the 'charmed life' leaves out sleepless nights in the studio and years and years of work." Those charmed life remarks also make it sound like his success was handed to him on a silver platter, when really the only thing that was handed to him was the Sears Danelectro Silvertone guitar his grandpa gave him when he was 8. From then on, it was all Paisley's hard work -- and probably a few hundred calluses -- that made him the player he is today.
