You don't necessarily see Keith Urban in a courageous
way in his new video for "For You." But those Navy SEALS? They are fearless. Which is why this video strikes me as so American:
a country singer from Australia, singing about patriotism, in a desert, with active-duty military heroes doing their thing
all around him. At the Nashville premiere for the new film, Act of Valor, Urban talked about inspiration for writing
the song with Monty Powell. "The song came about from a lot of talking about our views on war, in general, and patriotism
and sacrifice and what do we believe in. I like songs that ask me, as a listener, to think about some things with myself,"
he says. "I don't want to be preached to. But I don't mind asking myself a question. What do I believe in, and am I willing
to give my life for something. And maybe that's only metaphorically, but, who am I willing to give my life for?" Act of
Valor premieres Friday (Feb. 24), and "For You" is available now on the film's soundtrack.
