There are background vocals (BGVs). And then there are the boys and girls of the fifth grade PS22 Chorus in Staten Island. Carrie Underwood chose the latter to sing with her on "Good Girl" and "So Small" during a trip to New York last week. "It just made my heart happy to be here," she told the kids after they sang together. When they gave Underwood a "soprano" shirt, she said, "I feel like I'm a part of the choir now." As for the fifth graders, they were thrilled to have Underwood visit their school. "PS22 Chorus of 2012 was treated to one of the most wonderful musical guests we've ever had the pleasure of hosting, the amazing Ms. Carrie Underwood," the choir's website reported. And when they were done, Underwood was so impressed, she issued this warning for the music industry: "I think myself and everyone else in the music industry right now needs to be worried. You guys are gonna put us all out of a job."
