I cannot quite wrap my head around this. Jake Owen was just married Monday morning (May 7), but he had also tweeted he was arrested over the weekend. And while we do know his brush with the law was more of a misunderstanding than a "you-have-the-right-to-remain silent" kind of thing, still. There were handcuffs. So did that encounter with law officers in Vero Beach, Fla., cause any concern for his fiancée of one month, Lacey Buchanan? Because if so, the couple must've gotten over it real quick because they sure look happy in Owen's Twitter picture. Buchanan looks angelic in a strapless, white sand-length Amsale gown, and Owen looks beachy-casual in cream linen Tommy Bahama pants and a white Armani shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Both were in bare feet. His tweets and Facebook posts today (May 7) both said the same thing: "A best friend for life. I now have a wifey :) my face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life."
Here's how Owen spent much of his past week:
Tuesday (May 1): He was back in his hometown (Vero Beach) golfing and later spending time with his mom.
Wednesday: Spent time on a boat fishing and drinking ice-cold beverages with friends.
Saturday: Played the Space Coast Music Festival (about 45 minutes from Vero Beach) at 6 p.m., right after Ashton Shepherd and before Chris Young. He was later handcuffed briefly outside a Steak & Shake for dancing outside the window in a mask.
Sunday: He issues apology for tweeting about the Steak & Steak incident.
Monday: Owen tweets a picture from his beach wedding, after which the bride and groom and their families went to the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa for champagne, the cake cutting and a sit-down brunch, according to People magazine. Lacey's sister Leah was maid of honor, and Jake's twin brother Jarrod was best man. Owen's Uncle Ron officiated at the sunrise service.
