Before I even hear a new Love and Theft song, I know there's a strong possibility I'm going to love it. Why? Because Love and Theft has the backing (and tweeting) of Chris Bukowski. Bukowski, as you may know, is the unfairly ousted Mr. Right from this season's The Bachelorette. He was asked to leave the show a few weeks ago. Then earlier this week, in fact, the Chicagoan was on Twitter randomly quoting Love and Theft's hit, "Angel Eyes." "There's a little bit of Devil in her Angel eyes," he wrote. Was he talking about bachelorette Emily Maynard? Possibly. He was pretty angry at her when he left the show. And with "If You Ever Get Lonely," this great new Love and Theft ballad about being there to listen if she ever needs to talk, Bukowski may have some new lyrics to tweet to Maynard. "I never had a choice when it came to you" ... "I'm getting better, I'm putting one foot in front of the other" ... "Were you ever really listening, were you ever really there" ... and my favorite line, "Do you expect me to pretend that I don't love you?" Love and Theft's self-titled album will be released Tuesday (July 24). Listen to the track exclusively here.
