At Tim McGraw's Denver concert on Saturday night (July 21) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, he did what any good Christian would do. He sent out a bit of a prayer for all the fans who'd been affected by the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting. He did the old Christian rock song from Petra, "More Power to Ya." I wasn't there, but I'm sure the lyrics about "when we're all in one accord, they that wait upon the Lord, they shall renew, they shall renew their strength" and "be strong in the Lord, in the power of His might" sounded just right to the hurting fans. Especially because McGraw skipped the grand entrance at this show (maybe because it would've felt too grand) and just walked onstage cold. He had some very heartfelt words about the tragedy and about how much he appreciated everyone being there in the difficult days following the shooting. I've heard that this opening song and his always bittersweet "Live Like You Were Dying" were the most moving parts of his show.
