I so wish all of Jason Aldean's weekend tweets could just be about the music. But after a man was shot after Aldean's concert in Raleigh, N.C., on Friday (July 27), the singer had to say something.
"There's no excuse 4 things getting that heated in traffic leavin a show. I'm prayin 4 the fan who was injured and thanx to the Raleigh police for acting so quickly," he wrote.
And of course, he's right. He probably could've stayed on Twitter all night lecturing his fans about right and wrong, and maybe they would listen, and maybe it would help. (And by the way, who brings a gun to a concert? And if the venue is so hell-bent on searching fans for alcohol and drugs on their way in, wouldn't they have noticed a gun?)
The shooting took place after the concert outside the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion as fans were walking to their cars. The victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Still, just like Aldean, I'm praying for him.
