(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Jason Aldean loves summer. That's because between his weekend shows, he gets to be home when his daughters Keeley and Kendyl are home.
"I love having my two daughters home. Usually when I get home, I'm home Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and when they're out of school, I get to spend a lot of time with them during the day," he told CMT Radio. "But also starting school gets us all back in our normal routine. I think they're kinda ready to get school started again."
I have to agree. As carefree as summer is, there comes a time when all the sleeping in, swimming, bike riding and popsicle-eating gets a little old. Maybe not for the kids, but for their parents. So I say, bring on the binders, notebooks, calculators, schedules, book bags, permission slips and school shoes. (Aldean admits his wife is the one who handles all that back-to-school shopping for the girls.)
The irony of this, to me, is that my own kids are celebrating their very last Saturday night of summer with their friends and with Aldean when his show hits Chicago on Saturday (Aug. 18).
