(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Could you imagine going back to school and finding out that your new teacher is Keith Urban? That's the good news some 190 lucky high school juniors and seniors from Nashville's public schools are getting right now. Urban will be doing about 75 minutes of teaching -- and maybe even play a song or two -- on Sept. 6 as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's education program. The show itself isn't open to the public -- it's just for the arts and music students from four schools -- but the live stream will make you feel like you're there. Urban will be teaching the teenagers all about the craft of songwriting, what his musical influences have been, how he's inspired creatively and what his job is really like. Then he'll answer the students' questions. And maybe he'll even give them a homework assignment. I was never that crazy about studying hard in high school, but I'm going to pay very close attention in this class next week. The live stream starts at 10 a.m. CT.
