No matter what side you're on, you have to admit that last night's (Oct. 22) final presidential debate is all anyone is talking about today. Even Tim McGraw. He recently told CMT Radio that he has been into politics forever.
"I'm always interested. I grew up in Louisiana, so it's like a sport in Louisiana," McGraw said. "I mean, you grew up knowing about politics and hearing about it and it's everywhere. And I've always been fascinated by it."
He hasn't come right out and said which candidate has his vote, but I remember McGraw talking years ago about how he was a Democrat, and that the issues that matter to him are social safety nets: "We need to take care of the middle class and the poor in our country. The chasm is getting larger between haves and have-nots, and that's something we need to close down a little bit," he told Time magazine in 2006.
It sounds like he has some strong opinions, so you'd think McGraw would consider running for office himself someday. "If the time lines up with the cause and the reason in my life, then it would be something that I'd be interested in," he told CMT Radio.
