Dresses are feminine. But beyond that, for Taylor Swift, they have a way of making her feel carefree, fancy or like a '50s housewife. They're powerful like that. Yet here she is, in an array of pants that range from $295 to $1,395 in the December issue of Harper's Bazaar. The dress talk comes from a story she told about carrying a picture of Gwyneth Paltrow's pink Ralph Lauren 1999 Oscar gown around a mall when she was 15 looking for something similar to wear to her prom. "I went all over the mall and showed it to all the store owners and said, 'Do you have anything that looks like this?' And no one did. So there's that. That's a sad story for you," she said. Now, though, she'd probably have no trouble finding someone to fetch her that dress. Fitting it in her closet, though, might be a problem. Swift claims she has hundreds of dresses. "Because I'm in a predicament where I can't wear a dress twice or else it's pointed out in magazines, so unfortunately I have to shop for dresses all the time," she laughed. As for posing in so many pairs of pants -- which are out of her comfort zone -- Swift had a positive outlook. "Personal growth, let's call it that."
