Every time there's a new Taylor Swift interview, it seems like there are long lists of the people who influenced her music. But in the recent Ladies' Home Journal, when Swift was asked who the most influential person in her life is, it isn't another singer or songwriter. It's her mother. "I've never gone a day without talking to her," Swift says. "Growing up, she was always there for me when I needed a friend. That's why she's still one of my closest friends now." She also tells Gigi Kidary -- the magazine's reader interviewer of the month -- that she'd much rather be in a happy place when it comes to writing her songs. "Sometimes sadness can be so overwhelming, it stifles you," Swift said.
