(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Leave it to Keith Urban to put a positive spin on everything. In a recent interview with CMT Radio, Urban talked about how some people don't always see the star power in the new bevy of American Idol hopefuls. But he does. So instead of being a glass-is-half-empty kind of guy, it seems like Urban sees everything as half full. "For me, that is one of the exciting parts of the show -- genuinely watching someone like, say, a Carrie Underwood and watching her very first audition. Various people will say they don't have the star quality, they don't have this or that," he said. "Then, watching them just come into their own through the series, that's not only good television, it's pretty miraculous watching an artist emerge." We'll all know more about which Idol hopefuls will emerge in Hollywood or go home starting Jan. 16.
