On Wednesday night's (Jan. 9) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Brad Paisley announced the name of his upcoming album -- Wheelhouse -- and premiered his new theme song for the love-it-hate-it reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. (Paisley's official name on the show would be Blueberry Piggy if you look it up on the show's name generator, by the way.) So his "Ballad of Honey Boo Boo" has a very old-timey Western feel and pays homage to the sugared-up beauty queen who lives in the hills of Georgia in a modest home. "She'll sing a song, whistle a tune/Make ketchup s'ghetti with her Mama June," he sings. "She's roaming the country, she's on the loose/Filled with balls of cheese and go-go juice." There are also lyrics about how Honey Boo Boo is fighting for justice and the American way and how she's an American hero down to the core. Now, I know Paisley is a very gifted songwriter. But how could he not include the obvious rhymes? Just think of all the things that could rhyme with Boo Boo, smexy, glitz, shack 'em up and paint on the barn.
