(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Kelly Clarkson and I have this in common: We are currently obsessed with Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart." I can't stop singing it, turning it up, dancing to it and quoting it incessantly ("Run and hide your crazy and start acting like a lady" and "I numbed the pain at the expense of my liver" come up in everyday conversation quite often.) And Clarkson can't stop talking about it to Lambert. "Well, I have been on her about that," Clarkson told CMT. "I have! I'm like, 'Why are you not releasing that song? It's like my favorite on the record!' I love that she is a girl that can sing something really sassy and feisty but then sing something like 'The House That Built Me' or 'Over You.'" I heard that a bunch of Nashville's girl singers wanted to record "Mama's Broken Heart," but Lambert won that fight. Hopefully, the ones who didn't get to cut that song will be able to keep it together even when they fall apart.
