Sage advice from Miranda Lambert: "If you don't have confidence in your craft, then no one else can." It's what she told one of the contestants on Project Runway when she was a guest judge last week. But, really, those are words to live by for anyone in a creative field. Lambert was a quick study on the fashion design reality show and had insightful critiques of all the designs she was shown. The designers' assignment was to create looks for a Lambert performance and a red carpet walk. She was honest, making observations such as, "If that adds weight to her, I'm screwed," and "I don't know if that fabric on me would be super forgiving." But when she loved something, you could just tell. The winning design from Richard Hallmarq was a leathery fringe dress she said she'd like to wear during one of her upcoming performances. Maybe the Academy of Country Music Awards? "Onstage, you don't want it to be too short, especially if the stage is really high, because that's a different kind of show," she joked. But Hallmarq's black dress, she said, really stood out for her.
