I feel like I just walked through Taylor Swift's condo in Nashville. I didn't, obviously, but the story in the April issue of Vanity Fair paints a very detailed picture of what you'd find if you were getting the grand tour of her penthouse unit. It's in the new(ish) high-rise she said she dreamed of living in. "I told my mother, I'm going to live there someday. It just looked so grown-up," she told the magazine. So much of her decorating style is out of reach, but some ideas seem like they'd be easy to recreate. So, let's start in the foyer. Its walls are covered with bright (paper) flowers in frames. Then the stairwell is covered with photos of Swift with friends and heroes in frames. "I need to have pictures of people I love everywhere," she said. Upstairs is where Swift keeps her 1913 Steinway piano. And downstairs is her more-than-lifesize topiary rabbit, antique birdcages, crocheted pillows, knickknacks, 20-foot windows and the koi pond in the living room. It's a look Swift describes as Tim Burton-Alice in Wonderland-pirate ship-Peter Pan. The koi pond and the piano would be hard to replicate, but surely someone on Pinterest has discovered a way to make DIY topiary rabbits, framed paper flowers, antique birdcages, crocheted pillows and a stairwell full of your favorite pictures.
