It's not that Simon Cowell wouldn't love to have Carrie Underwood on his show The X Factor, but the rumors of Underwood joining the judging panel next season? Not true, according to Cowell. He recently called in to Chicago's country radio station WUSN and debunked the story. "I heard that. It's news to me. It really, really is," he said. "I mean, I adore Carrie, you know. We found her on the show [American Idol]. She was a great contestant." And since he was calling in with his other favorite country singer, Tate Stevens, Mr. Master of the Obvious took the time to point out the country-in-reality trend. "It's interesting, because often the country artists seem to be better now on these shows," Cowell said. "And, actually, we wanted a country singer for X Factor last year. As soon as I heard Tate's first audition, I said, 'I think this guy's gonna win. And sure enough, he won." If Underwood isn't joining the show, let's hope at least one other country star does.
