You can call this a juice fast or a detoxification program. Jake Owen calls it a master cleanse. But whatever it's called, it worked for him. He told CMT Radio he feels good and feels ready to go. "It's weird. I'll be honest with anyone who ever wants to try it. I had a lot of things in my life that were bringing me down -- just a lot of cloudiness," he said of his precleanse physical and/or mental state. Since completing it, though, he says he's getting back to good nutrition and bettering himself. So how do you concoct the cleanse elixir? Mix two tablespoons of fresh-squeezed juice from room-temperature lemons, two tablespoons of good maple syrup, a pinch of cayenne pepper and 10 ounces of filtered water. Among the instructions are that you drink this six times a day and, of course, choose a healthy diet. There is no medical evidence that toxins are literally removed from your body with this diet, but Owen looks fantastic, so it probably can't hurt.
